Barr. Zikrullah resumes as NAHCON  Chairman /CEO

The long awaited official resumption of the newly appointed Chairman /CEO of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Alhaji Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan finally materialized yesterday with hand over of documents and paraphernalia of office to the new helmsman by the former chief executive officer by Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammed at an eventful ceremony held at the Conference Hall of Hajj House

  Many have waited with bated breath for the Hand over ceremony which has been on hold for almost two weeks even after the Senate had screened and confirmed the nominees appointment.

  In his remarks the new Chairman expressed gratitude to Allah and President Muhammadu Buhari for finding him and other members of Management Board worthy and assured all that his team would put out their best to justify the confidence reposed them to ‘elevate and uplift Hajj management in Nigeria to the NEXT LEVEL

  According to him, the new board is not oblivious of the expectation of Nigerian Muslim Ummah, assuring that the team would work assiduously to address some of the problems. Said he’ we understand that outworn programmes are inadequate to address the need of out time especially in area of revenue generation. So we must harness new ideas to make and reduce Hajj Fare, so that we can empower and enable majority of Muslim faithfuls to hearken to the divine obligation and calls. ‘

He added’ the new board has also resolved to continue the journey to give and make NAHCON a global brand and recognition like the famous Tabung Hajj in Malaysia. Therefore our journey will not be complete until we find a better way that will make our pilgrims not wait for long hours and days in Saudi Arabia to board the aircraft or depart for their destinations ‘

The NAHCON boss however called for support and cooperation from all stakeholders to achieve the dream. “Let each of us embrace the solemn duty to be a driver of the the policy to move this commission forward. I’m confident that with common purpose, passion and dedication from all of us, we can achieve and answer the call of history to make NAHCON the doyen and pride of all Muslims in the country as well as become the proud child in whom the Federal Government will be well pleased. ‘

Speaking on staff welfare, Barr Hassan assured that the staff would be carried along on the Board”s policy stressing that as the implementors of ideas they would be the anchor of the Commission’s programmes and policy stating’ no one has greater stakes in a viable and prosperous NAHCON than the staff. In this light I’m committed to your welfare. I’m going to give you your rights and privilege without discrimination or bias. ‘

“We intend to pursue the upscale capacity building through training and retraining of staff by ensuring the takeoff of the long awaited Hajj Training Institute because it is in our interest and conscience and I believe it is the only source of hope to sustain the foundation and legacies of the founding fathers of this great edifice called NAHCON ‘.

Barr. Hassan however paid glowing tributes to the pioneer predecessor and the outgoing  Chairman for their contributions to the building and growing of the Commission to its present status “Let me put it on record my sincere commendation to the outgoing Chairman for his positive strides in the administration and management of Hajj”
