The Chairman National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad today, Sunday 7th of July bade farewell to a 15 man National Medical Advance Team to Saudi Arabia.

In his usual manner, the Chairman advised members to remain steadfast in the discharge of their responsibilities and to give pilgrims the best attention they deserve. Earlier during their inauguration, he had warned them not to give any individual special treatment  to the detriment of Nigerian pilgrims who happen to be their primary constituents. He prayed for the success of the operations and urged them to also pray for the success of Nigeria as a whole and the success of the 2019 exercise.

In his own farewell remarks, Leader of the National Medical Team, Dr Ibrahim Kana, enjoined the medical practitioners to be respectful to pilgrims, treat them well and to adhere to their duties. He reminded them that they are in Saudi Arabia primarily to work and not for worship therefore they must not abandon their places of duty for the other, not even on Fridays. Dr Kana warned the members that they could be recalled to duty post when situation demands notwithstanding whether they are off duty. Finally he advised them to respect regulations and laws of Saudi Arabia at all times.

The team had yesterday, 7th of July held a final strategic meeting to fine tune strategies for the successful administration of the task ahead. The meeting was led by Dr Ibrahim Kana.
