The Saudi Arabian Government has commended the Kebbi State 2015 Hajj Committee for its credible conduct of the State Pilgrims during this year’s Pilgrimage. Alhaji Isah Assalafi, the Chairman of the committee told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi on Monday.

Assalafi said the Saudi Arabian government’s commendation followed the good conduct exhibited by the Pilgrims before during and after the exercise. He said that the authorities commended the Pilgrims behaviour especially at the point of arrival and the departure from Holy land. The State Pilgrims behaved creditably well and none of them violated any Saudi Arabia’s laws he said. The committee also applauded the honesty exhibited by a Pilgrim, Alhaji Haruna Gwandu who returned 7000 US Dollars he found at the Holy Mosque of Makkah. He said Gwandu action was also commended by the Kebbi State Hajj committee led by Emir of Argungu Alhaji Sama’ila Mere. Assalafi said that the committee planning to formally honour the pilgrim for his honesty especially the respect for Nigerian Pilgrims. He said the committee had discharged its responsibility excellently despite the few challenges it experienced, especially during the unfortunate stampede that affected some of the Pilgrims.

Assalafi commended the State government for providing befitting accommodations, feeding, transportation and medical care for the Pilgrims. He also expressed appreciation to the State government for giving each Pilgrim 200 Saudi riyals as welfare allowance.
